Reminder: LEAP + EPA Community Workshop — FRIDAY, MAY 18 9:30p-12:30p
Hello LEAP Stakeholders-
This year, LEAP was one of 10 applicants selected throughout the US to receive technical assistance as part of the United States Environmental Protection Agency Office of Sustainable Communities Building Blocks for Sustainable Communities Program.
http://www.cnt.org/news/2012/01/18/cnt-to-assist-communities-in-promoting-green-infrastructure/
On Friday, May 18, 2012, LEAP will be hosting a workshop in partnership with the Center for Neighborhood Technology from 9:30a-12:30p at the Northeast Guidance Center (2900 Conner Street, Detroit, Michigan 48215). The purpose of this workshop is to help broaden community members’ understanding of green infrastructure programs (GIPs), their benefit to the community and city and share tools that help demonstrate the value of GIPs. This is an excellent opportunity for community stakeholders (residents, business owners, faith-based, social and academic institutions) to learn more about different green infrastructure programs and ideas, ask questions and provide feedback that will be useful for supporting, implementing and replicating GIPs in the LEAP district and beyond.
Please help get the word out for this workshop! Invite your neighbors, relatives and friends to come learn more about how green infrastructure can transform communities. For questions or to RSVP, email leapdetroit@gmail.com.
