DETROIT, Mich., May 1, 2011 – The Villages Community Development Corporation (CDC) announced today that it will be joining exhibitors at this year’s Motor City Pride Weekend June 4th and 5th.
“The neighborhoods and dwellings that make up The Villages have always been an inclusive and diverse area,” said Executive Director Brian Hurttienne, “so it’s natural that we should be taking part in this activity as part of our ‘Living in the V!’ initiatives. Motor City Pride is a great opportunity for attendees to learn more about both living in the Villages as well as exploring our area’s business potential.”
On Sunday June 5th, The Villages Community Development Corporation will make available bus tours of the riverfront-based Villages leaving from Hart Plaza, location of this year’s Motor City Pride Weekend 2011. The neighborhoods that make up the Villages are West Village, Indian Village, Joseph Berry Subdivision, East Village, Islandview Village, and the Gold Coast. Within walking distance of Detroit’s beautiful Belle Isle Park, all the Villages neighborhoods are close to downtown, the stadiums, the theatre district, the medical and cultural centers as well as Wayne State University.
“Every day people are discovering and rediscovering the advantages of city living. There is a wonderful energy and excitement happening in Detroit and The Villages is happy to be a part of that,” added Hurttienne.
